We are located in the park of “Tor di Quinto”, a beautiful landscape in north Rome, not too far from the city centre of the Italian capital.
A few steps away from a picturesque lake and the Tiber river, surrounded by greenery, you can find a covered parking area, an area dedicated to outdoor sports and a building reminiscent of a farmhouse. Nowadays, it is the QVINTO restaurant: an ideal place to relax.
QVINTO came from an idea by the ingenious entrepreneur Sabrina Corbo, who lives between London and Rome, the ‘Eternal City’.
Once Mrs Corbo settled on the concept of the restaurant, she entrusted the architect Stefano Dorata to follow it. A well-known architect and designer, Mr Dorata has worked all around the world.
Mr Dorata explains “The image we wanted to achieve was that of a rural style with contemporary decor, linked to its external environment and landscape. On the ground floor, there is a restaurant with outdoor seating and a large ‘dehors’. While upstairs, there is a terrace for aperitifs and guest’s events.”
Each space at QVINTO is instantly welcoming. With Mr Dorata having designed and furnished the space to “make the guests feel at ease. Yet I also wanted to include ‘surprise’ elements that could arouse the sense of being in an unusual and emotionally immersive place.”
This element of surprise includes a line of large lemon trees in the restaurant and olive trees surrounding the outside area and terrace.
There’s also a grand basalt fireplace for grilled dishes, and even the restrooms are decorated with beautiful metal, black marble, and wood. All the decor is used to evoke the surrounding landscape. From the lemon and olive trees to the vintage or bespoke furnishings, and the giant fireplace on the terrace.
The distinctive atmosphere evokes the elegant and informal spirit of restaurants found in London and New York. The menu, however, is made in Italy. Traditional Roman and Neapolitan cuisine has inspired it: everything from the starters, to the main course, grilled dishes and pizza. Simply delicious.
